R-Sport Stage 2 – The Ultimate Stock Location Intercooler

Brand new from R-Sport, this intercooler has been specifically designed for the ST180 owner seeking reliable stage 2 power. While the standard intercooler does it’s job, it loses its effectiveness when pushed hard. The Stage 2 intercooler will keep your charge temperatures down and keep your intake air as dense as possible. Not only does this improve performance, but also improves engine efficiency, allowing your engine to intake cooler compressed air.

This intercooler is a direct replacement for the OEM unit, with no fuss, simple DIY fitment (or workshop fitting can be arranged). This must-have upgraded unit will support you all the way to 255bhp, allowing you to give your ST the power it deserves!

Why does my EcoBoost need an intercooler?

The standard Fiesta 1.6 turbo intercooler, as we have proved in testing, tends to have a weak spot above 225-230 bhp on the car when wanting to push power hard from the very small turbo. Pushing the turbo to stage 2 levels of power and torque creates more heat, to the point where the intercooler becomes ineffective at cooling the air traveling through it, the ECU will notice this increase in temperature and pull ignition timing and boost to keep the temperatures under control, unfortunately, this means less power!

Lower temperatures and a higher flow rate through the cooler are known to return that lost power, so the design team at Pumaspeed has added the best intercooler core into the airflow and created the very best stock location compact cooler available.

*This intercooler has a new 2020 design with an optional 76mm core! The new thicker core is even more effective however, it will require you to trim the undertray plastics for fitting. The classic 70mm core will not, it is a direct fit to your car without any modification at all*
