Introducing the brand new RTS uprated hybrid clutch kit to suit the all EA888 manual cars including Mk7 Golf R, Audi S1 and Audi S3 8V!
When tuning the 2.0 TSI EA888 engine found in the latest generation of VAG hot hatches, getting tonnes of extra power and torque has never been an issue for the guys at Pumaspeed and Maxd Out. However, getting the power delivered to all 4 wheels has sometimes been an issue with the stock clutch setup which is almost at it’s limit at stage 2 levels of 400bhp.
The RTS uprated clutch kit plugs a gap in the market for an affordable clutch solution which can cope with all the additional torque and power found in big turbo cars over 400bhp. This is also achieved without the crazy heavy pedal feel found in some competitor clutch setups, so whether your VAG hot hatch is a track day weapon, a weekend B-Road basher, or your daily driver, this clutch will suit your driving style perfectly.
So how does this ‘Hybrid’ clutch kit work?
The clutch plate itself has two faces, a front and a rear, normally these are pretty much identical in terms of material and construction. However with this clutch kit, one side is an organic friction plate providing the OE pedal feel, and one side is a 5 paddle setup providing the additional strength to cope with all the additional torque you’re ready to put through it!
For more extreme applications a full paddle clutch is available, we only recommend this for competition use due to the nature of the pedal feel.
*We recommend the purchase of a new slave cylinder when replacing any clutch as it requires no additional labour to fit. A new dual mass flywheel is also recommended on higher mileage cars where the existing flywheel face is badly scored*
